In-Deep Community Task Force is seeking an experienced chef or cook to support its warm and welcoming weekly lunch club for over-50s in Pimlico. This community-focused role is ideal for someone with experience in a busy kitchen environment—whether from a café, restaurant, drop-in centre, or similar—who enjoys preparing hearty, comforting meals for others. Taking place every Wednesday from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm at Grosvenor Hall on Vincent Street (SW1P), the lunch club offers older adults a nutritious meal and a friendly space to connect. The menu includes simple favourites like jacket potatoes with a choice of toppings—chicken, tuna, beans, or cheese—as well as rotating hot dishes such as pie and mash with vegetables. As a volunteer, you’ll: - Prepare and cook a range of meals for around 30–40 older adults in a friendly, busy kitchen setting. - Work with a small team to ensure food is served on time and to a good standard. - Help maintain a clean and organised kitchen throughout the session. - Contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere for those attending the lunch club. If you enjoy cooking for others and want to use your kitchen skills to bring comfort and connection to older people in the community, In-Deep Community Task Force would love to hear from you. This is a fulfilling opportunity to make a direct impact through food, conversation, and care.
In-Deep are unable to reimburse expenses, which is why someone living locally is preferable.
