7th April Event - Men Matter

STRENTHENING KENSINGTON YOUTH & FAMILIES

5 positions available

Description

SKYF is seeking friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to support the delivery of our Men Matter – World Health Day event taking place on 7 April 2026. This is a one-day opportunity to be part of a positive, community-focused event that uses football to encourage men to engage with health and wellbeing support. On the day, volunteers will play a vital role in helping the event run smoothly and ensuring members of the public feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported. What you’ll be doing: - Helping to set up and pack down the event space - Welcoming members of the public and creating a friendly, inclusive atmosphere - Giving directions and explaining what the Men Matter project is about - Supporting engagement with the football activity and the Headers in the Community challenge - Encouraging men to take part and helping them connect with health and wellbeing services available on the day This role makes a real difference. Many men find it difficult to access support around health and mental wellbeing, and volunteers help break down barriers by creating a relaxed, approachable environment where conversations can happen naturally. We are particularly keen to involve male volunteers, as peer-to-peer engagement can help men feel more understood and confident to take part. An interest in football is a big plus, as football is central to how the event brings people together and starts important conversations. What’s in it for you: - Hands-on experience supporting a community health and wellbeing event - The chance to build confidence working with the public - Development of communication and teamwork skills - An opportunity to give back to the local community - Being part of a meaningful, positive project that supports men’s health and wellbeing If you’re approachable, reliable, and interested in supporting men’s health through sport and community engagement, this is a rewarding way to get involved and make an impact.
