DadsHouse - Helping Dads be Dads

volunteering location

SW6 1TS

3 positions available

Description

DadsHouse is committed to supporting families in need through a range of services, including its vital foodbank. As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll play a key part in making sure surplus food from local stores reaches the foodbank, where it can be sorted and distributed to those who need it most. This flexible role is perfect for someone with access to a car who’s happy to use it to make a real difference. Whether you're available short term or for ongoing support, your contribution will help ensure that food donations are collected promptly and put to good use. As a volunteer, you’ll: - Collect food donations from local stores, usually around 5.00pm when shops close. - Transport items to the foodbank for sorting and distribution. - Be introduced to the stores and supported through the process. - Join a friendly team and contribute to a rewarding, community-focused initiative. The time commitment is minimal—typically around an hour a week—and entirely flexible based on your availability. You’ll need to be a self-starter who’s comfortable managing your own time and happy working independently within a supportive team. If you're reliable, friendly, and ready to put your car to good use, you're warmly encouraged to register your interest and help DadsHouse support families through its foodbank services.

This really is a volunteering experience for local people in RBKC who want to give one hour a week to help get the food to the foodbanks so that it can be distributed to the vulnerable and those that need help. You do need to own a car that you are happy to use. We are happy if you can only volunteer for a short time, or on an ongoing basis or on one off occasions - we are flexible.
